Ed’s brother began working for their father in 1961 and the company added carpet and linoleum to its installation services. In 1963 after high school, Ed went to work for his father and over the next few years, concentrated on being a great tile setter and learning as much as he could.

On April 1, 1968, Ed’s father at 69 years of age decided it was time to retire and handed over the tile company to Ed. With a red Ford pickup, only $200 in the bank, and with John Carney, a friend of Ed’s and his employee, he was on my way. The company name was changed once again on July 12th, 1968 to its present name, Ed Pawlack Tile.
